Beatstalkers: "Silver treetop school for boys / Sugar chocolate machine"


In December 1967 the Scottish "The Beatstalkers" recorded the same song that "The Slender Plenty" in its fifth 7 ", released on CBS label, which unfortunately can not figurative one in the rankings.

The group consisted of Davie Lennox on vocals, Eddie Campbell on organ, Ronnie Smith on guitar and vocals, Alan Mair on bass and Jeff Allen on drums. The production was done by Mike Smith and Bowie recording choirs participated.

In 1997 the A-side is included in the compilation "Tribute" David Bowie Songbook "the Connoisseur Collection label. In 2003 "Sugar Chocolate Machine" is included in the compilation "We can fly volume 4" Past And Present seal with another 24 songs from the period 1966-1971. In 2006 "Silver treetop school for boys" is included in another compilation-tribute: "Oh you pretty things" seal Castle and the following year is incorporated in the box set "Real Life Permanent Dreams" Seal Sanctuary along with other British psychedelic singles groups between 1965 and 1970.
